One YouTuber decided to make a video titled ‘Sora’s Broken Mechanic,’ with a description that simply reads: “he’s broken,” obviously referring to the new Kingdom Hearts character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The video is very short, at only 12 seconds long, and while someone might think the video will actually show proof of how Sora might be unbalanced in Smash, it does it, but in a joking manner.

The video from Kosimo starts with Sora in his outfit from Kingdom Hearts 2, and he’s fighting against the villain of Final Fantasy 7, Sephiroth, on the new Hollow Bastion stage added with Sora’s fighter pack. It’s a heated match, with both Sora and Sephiroth at very high percentage levels and one life each. Viewers are more than likely waiting for the “broken Sora” moment to happen, but it doesn’t. Instead, Sora gets defeated by Sephiroth in a slick final blow from the legendary Masamune katana. However, Sora isn’t gone just yet.
Once Sora gets knocked out, two choices pop up on the screen straight from Kingdom Hearts 2. One option says, “I won’t give up,” and the other says, “It’s all over.” For the unaware, when Sora would get defeated in KH2, the player has a slight chance to come back to life by choosing the “I won’t give up option.” It would summon Mickey Mouse to the battlefield, and players could control them and use a particular skill to heal Sora back to life.
At the end of the video, it even shows a fan-made Mickey Mouse Mii fighter coming to the Smash Bros. match to help out Sora, but it cuts out hilariously before anything else is shown.
The fan reception to the video has been very positive, too. Currently, it has over half a million views, 38K likes, and only about 400 dislikes. Of course, most people clicked on the video to potentially see some fascinating OP Sora gameplay but ended up laughing at the end result instead. The top comment under the video has over 6K upvotes and says: “Was expecting a “broken combo” video. This is so much better.”
