Elden Ring is the latest title from developer FromSoftware and follows the gameplay style of games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne with its fantasy-inspired setting and challenging gameplay. Players become a Tarnished, an exiled warrior who has ventured to the Lands Between in hopes of reforging the game’s titular ring after it was broken and scattered across the land in an attempt to become the new Elden Lord. Standing between the players and the title of Elden Lord are the demi-god beings who wield fragments of the broken ring and preside over the Lands Between’s various regions.

The aforementioned video is courtesy of Reddit user Jacob Chapel, who posted their video creation to the game’s official subreddit for all to see. Chapel pulled a clip from a 2004 episode of King of the Hill, titled Ceci N’est Pas Une King of The Hill, where Dale comes into possession of a suit of armor and begins causing trouble around Arlen before he is confronted by Bill in his own homemade suit of armor. While the fight is fairly anti-climactic on its own, Chapel adds to both the tension and humor by overlaying Elden Ring’s music and a boss bar for Bill.
When hearing the description, it would not be surprising for some viewers to question how well the combination of Elden Ring and King of the Hill actually works. It is understandable, given how different the two are beyond their respective entertainment mediums along with Chapel’s own admission that their idea for the video simply came about because King of the Hill was on in the background while playing.
That being said, Chapel’s video is further proof of how opposites can attract and produce surprising results. It isn’t anything new in the Elden Ring subreddit, either, as plenty of users can be seen flexing their creativity by creating Thanos in Elden Ring or giving their artistic rendition of the game’s many bosses.
Elden Ring is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
