Skyrim is a long open-world game, so there is plenty of content for players to experience. Quests, combat, and exploration provide most of the fun, of course, but occasionally players find other silly things to share, like the Reddit user who found their journey suddenly inhibited by a hysterical glitch.

User Sparkyboi_06 posted a video to the Skyrim subreddit that shows their character riding away on a horse only to lag into a standing position with no explanation. This is hardly the only clip of Skyrim glitching, though it is one of the more comedic examples. The horse in the video is Arvak, one of the most useful mounts in-game, a summoned steed from the Dawnguard DLC. This lag that affects the mounts, however, has been known to bother any number of Skyrim’s horses.
Of course, there have always been elements of Skyrim that need improvement. From the semi-repetitive content to small villages, Skyrim isn’t without its problems. Fortunately, The Elder Scrolls V is the type of game that is stronger for its quirks, all of which give the title more personality and seem to keep players passionate. Glitches and an active community of modders have taken the standard Skyrim experience and altered it into something that, while still imperfect, is poised to stand the test of time.
Indeed, as players wait for The Elder Scrolls 6, which is likely still years away from completion, gamers can find comfort in the fact that Skyrim is still a platform that brings new memories to fans. With a roster of great DLCs and a long and re-playable string of missions, Skyrim represents a unique gameplay experience. Though there isn’t much information about the future of The Elder Scrolls franchise, there is the hope that Bethesda’s groundbreaking series of games will live up to the reputation gained from the epic titles that have come before. Until the sixth entry is released, however, fans will continue to make do with the iconic content of Skyrim.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
