A Reddit user has garnered 2,300 upvotes on a Call of Duty: Warzone 2 clip that shows the player seemingly dying to a frag grenade when they should’ve been safe. Like with other battle royales, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 players drop from a plane that’s crossing the map in a straight line to begin a match. While some players are known for trying to get parachute kills with their pistols in Call of Duty: Warzone 2, this Warzone fan wasn’t even able to get that far into their battle royale match.

Reddit user ForeverInBlueJeanz recently shared a brief clip of their Call of Duty: Warzone 2 gameplay in which they are killed by a frag grenade while the intro cutscene is playing out. The video begins like any game regardless of if it’s a solo, duo, or squad-based Call of Duty: Warzone 2 match, with the plane drop intro that shows each player in the group. After the camera phases through the front of the plane, it highlights ForeverInBlueJeanz’s soldier who’s seemingly about to soar down to Al Mazrah solo but is quickly cut off.
As soon as the soldier moves from leaning against the plane wall, the icon for an enemy Call of Duty: Warzone 2 frag can be seen before the cutscene briefly flashes the hand icon that indicates that a player can throw the grenade away from them to avoid taking damage. Possibly unable to interact with the enemy equipment because of the cutscene nature of this Call of Duty: Warzone 2 intro, the soldier proceeds to step over the grenade which blows up underneath them. The explosion in the plane is powerful enough to kill ForeverInBlueJeanz’s character before they’re even able to escape the plane, making it possibly the fastest death in Warzone history.
Although ForeverInBlueJeanz’s clip seems to highlight another problematic Call of Duty: Warzone 2 glitch, the player still gets a killcam that reveals they were killed by a soldier called Mashinmax. While it’s possible that the player was cheating as so many did with the original Warzone, it’s currently unclear how the enemy was able to drop a frag grenade on the Call of Duty: Warzone 2 intro plane.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
