Real started the match on the front foot, as they applied pressure on the Tottenham defence from the get-go. They lined up as expected, with Isco on the left, Bale playing behind the striker, James Rodriguez on the right and Jese playing as the lone striker.
The first goal of the match came from James, as he made a late run into the box and latched onto Isco’s cross. His header was very well-directed and gave Michel Vorm in the Tottenham goal no chance.
At the half-time break, it looked as though tempers were rising as Sergio Ramos and Erik Lamela both got into some sort of a fight, as they pushed and shoved as they were walking off the field.
The second half followed sort of the same script as Los Blancos controlled the proceedings and sealed the win thanks to Gareth Bale’s long-ranger.
