The inaugural Russian Grand Prix scheduled to be held in Sochi next year has been in the news quite frequently, but for the wrong reasons.

However, Hermann Tilke, whose company designs new F1 circuits including the one in Sochi, is confident that the construction of the track will be completed on time.

Insisting that he is ’100 per cent certain’ about the timely construction of the track, Tilke said “The track will be built on schedule.”

When asked whether the construction delay between November this year and the end of the 2014 Winter Olympics would pose a problem, Tilke reiterated, “No, everything will be ok. The track will be ready on time.”

The Sochi GP recently made headlines when the Russian Automobile Federation missed the deadline to submit the application to the FIA, apparently due to a dispute with the race promoters Omega over financial issues.
